Departmental Lecturer in Infectious diseases and Microbiology at the University of Oxford and stipendiary lecturer at Hertford College, Oxford.
She is on the editorial board for the Journal of Infection and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is a co-investigator on a NIHR award entitled: āMolecular Epidemiology for Vaccination Policy (MEVACP)ā and is funded on a Wellcome Trust award led by Prof Christoph Tang entitled: āGonococcal Vaccine Initiativeā. Odile undertook her PhD at Imperial College London, supervised by Profs Robert Heyderman and Brian Robertson. After gaining her PhD, Odile was awarded a Marie Curie fellowship to work at Sanofi Pasteur in Lyon, France where she became interested in bioinformatics and the analysis of nucleotide sequence data. Through collaborations with Prof Martin Maidenās group, Odile was offered a position at the University and moved to Oxford. It is here that Odile extended her training in bioinformatics. She has developed the Neisseria platform to allow Neisseria gonorrhoeae whole-genome sequence data (WGS)data to be annotated including all of the currently used typing schemes and also implemented the gonococcal core genome scheme allowing gonococci to be annotated across the genome. Odile has also developed the PubMLST Chlamydiales, Streptococcus agalactiae (group B strep) and Haemophilus influenzae platforms for the annotation of WGS from these species.
